HERE'S THE ANSWER I THINK YOU WANT.Â* GO FOR IT.Â* YOU'RE ONLY YOUNG
Â* ONCE.

I still have my motorcycle endorsement on my license, but I think the
reaction time is not there anymore to ride.

I just stopped because this is not a motorcycle friendly place. Too
many people who can't seem to see one in the city and not enough roads
to make it interesting in the country. Southern Md used to be a great
place to ride with lots of little winding country roads criss crossing
the 3 or 4 southern counties. There is really nothing like that here.
Roads tend to be long straight 2 lane blacktops.

Â*I encourage Herring to buy a new, fast motorcycle, and spend a lot of
time riding it on I-95 between Fairfax County and Richmond, Virginia,
and, of course, around the Washington Beltway.

Considering Herring's age, brittleness, and general health, perhaps he
should consider this motorcycle:

most of your posts and I don't read any of them.

We have some great roads over by the mountains, or over the mountains in WV.
Southern MD is too boring.

It's not safe riding in the country either. My old diesel mechanic
was riding his bike in the boondocks somewhere around here and hit a
turkey vulture with his head. Neither he or the vulture survived. His
widow is now married to the brother in law of my present diesel guy.
Small world.

The birds around here are not very car savvy it seems. I once had a
young eagle fly up right in front of my truck as I was driving on a
back road. It was a *very* close call for both of us.

A friend hit a bear in Shenandoah River State Park. The bear ran off, he busted
a collarbone, and his brand new Triumph was in bad shape.

I've had close calls with stupid auto drivers, but have been lucky as far as
animals go.

We were on some great windy roads in WV a few years ago, over near
Cass and Green Bank. There's also a very cool steam railroad in that
area.

I suppose that depends on which roads you are on. There are/were some
interesting rides down through southern PG and Chuck county if you
stayed off the ones with numbers on them.

I think many of the WV roads were designed by motorcyclists. My brothers and I
spen four days in Elkins, and each day we'd take a different tour. Beautiful
state. That whole Monongahela National Forest was made for motorcyclists!

Our camping club spent a weekend camping over there and took a ride on the Cass
Railroad. Saw a few eagles while winding along the river.
