All I want from my cellphone is a stronger signal and better connectivity in areas not near a tower. Apparently this is NOT an attribute of 5G. I don't play comuter games or watch movies on my cellphone, and cell coverage down here in Redneck, Maryland isn't so hot once you get a few miles away from the main highway. So? Why 5G? === Our primary way of getting internet when traveling is to use one of our phones as a tethered hotspot. 4G is usually more than adequate for that but 5G would open up more possibilities for things like watching Netflix movies or video conferencing, not that we do a lot of that. We have some quality of cell service on the main highwayy and of course it disappears sometimes out in the boonies. 5G isn't going to help that. I have cell coverage on my iPad, so that helps if we want to downstream a movie, but usually we just use the wifi at the hotel. So, basically, I still see no reason for upgrading hardware to 5G. Do your phones or I Pads link to your TV? Otherwise why would you want to watch a movie in a tiny screen with lousy sound? |
