U.S. reports more than 83,000 coronavirus cases, record daily total, as
experts warn of difficult winter
Published Sat, Oct 24 202010:22 AM EDT

The U.S. reported more than 83,700 new Covid-19 cases on Friday,
passing the last record of roughly 77,300 cases seen in mid-July,
according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
Amid the growing trend in cases, health experts are warning that
the U.S. could be in for a difficult winter.
The increase in cases in several states are leading to more
hospitalizations and will ultimately lead to more deaths, White House
coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said Friday.

And that is Trump?s fault?

The state this country is in regarding COVID-19 is definitely Trump's
fault for the reasons that have been discussed rationally many times in
the news, among actual doctors and scientists, et cetera. That you Trump
Cultists don't believe it only means you are living in the same fog of
ignorance as the rest of the demagogue's supporters.

Bull****. California has been ruled by King Newsom and keeps most things
closed except for Walmart, etc. and we still have COVID-19. Oh, he does
allow riots, etc.

There's a lot more to it than keeping "things closed." Of course, you
would have to read legit news sites or watch legit news channels to know
that, and from your posts here, it is reasonable to say you do neither.

For instance?

What would Biden do to bend that curve? Shut down the economy more
than it is?
I think it is almost funny that Biden whines about the economic
downturn, then in the same speech says Trump should have choked it
more.

The economy is not going to recover properly without getting the spread
of COVID-19 under control and despite Trump's lies, we do not have a
cure in sight and not even a vaccine to prevent it. No one who knows is
saying when either will be ready for sure.eals

Says the guy who can't even keep himself out of debt despite help from
multiple bankruptcies and lien payoff deals. Somebody ought to do a
compilation of your sage insights. Call it Fat Harry's Legacy. "Yes I can
Yes I did".

There really doesn't seem to be. When people point me to island
nations like South Korea and New Zealand as examples, the first thing
I see is they close their borders. That is something we have never
been able to do.
Quarantining international travelers is not a viable option either.
The 3 main airports in New York saw ~280,000 international arrivals in
July (the latest stat I saw on the port authority web site). They only
have 40,000 hotel rooms according to the NY hotel assn. Where are you
going to put them up?
I guess we could throw out the 8,000-10,000 homeless that DeBlasio has
in hotels now but that is still not going to help much.

Well, I read the newspaper. You mean they are not honestly reporting.
Europe has the same COVID-19 problems we have. Trump caused? Where is
Pelosi and the Democrats ideas?
