I suspect that the actual number of people protesting is a relatively
small percentage of the overall population. Just for the sake of
discussion, assume it is 5%, and that 5% of them become infected as a
result. That would result in an overall increase of 1/4 of 1 percent,
well below the level of statistical significance in my opinion, and
certainly not a "spike".
That assumes they have no friends, family or co workers they associate
with. The folks of color tend to live pretty close. That is why it
runs wild there.
Our hot spot is Immokalee and if you have ever been there it is easy
to understand. The houses/trailers are packed together and there may
be 6-10 people in each one. The workers ride to work, 15-16 at a time,
in a van. Most of them never stopped working. One guy brings the bug
home in the van, it can run wild.
