It makes a lot of sense when you see the lunacy that's going on in Springfield, Illinois. It would be fabulous, Tim, if you and a large crowd of your buddies, hundreds maybe, got together sans masks in a large church for socializing. Just pack 'em in, exchanges lots of hugs and kisses, pass around the wafers, share grape juice cups, and sneezed and coughed all over each other. Oh...and let us know how it works out. -- MAGA - Manipulating America's Gullible Assholes Benjamin Franklin once said: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." When he penned that phrase,Harry. it's amazing how he had you in mind. Go for it, but make sure you are among at least 100 of your fellow worshipers of Trump. More people died from suicide than COVID. https://abc7news.com/suicide-covid-1...th-by/6201962/ So shelter in place has negatives also. Maybe church is more necessary than golfing. The arguments about how many people die from suicides, car accidents, etc., compared to covid-19 deaths make no sense to me. If there are precautions that can be taken to control the number of people who contact covid-19 it seems to me that they should be listened to and considered. People don't "catch" a inclination for suicide or a higher risk of a car accident simply by intermingling with other people. If the recommendations for social distancing, self-quarantine, especially if infected, the famous "washing of hands" and don't touch your face had *not* been taken seriously by the general public, this pandemic would be still on the rise exponentially and would eventually affect everyone on the planet. The reason the rise of infections, hospitalizations and deaths are starting to decline is because generally, the public paid attention and cooperated. What if they hadn't? The increase in suicides are probably from losing jobs, cannot pay the bills, no social interaction, etc. all results of the SIP orders. Domestic violence up also. There are all kinds of articles about how the suicide rate *might* increase due to various pressures and influences related to covid-19 but none I can find actually provide numbers. In 2018 there were just under 50,000 recorded deaths by suicide in the USA. The deaths due to covid-19 is double that in four months. might increase but to say more With a documented increase in domestic violence, not hard to also agree to an increase in suicide |
