![]() I decided to watch Rachael Maddow's show on MSNBC last night ... or at least tried to. She spent at least a half hour blasting Trump for his announcement of a temporary ban on immigrants applying for green cards, etc., in her annoying, lecturing way. Her reasons were that there is no evidence that immigrants entering the USA are carrying the covid-19 virus and she pointed out that the spread of the virus was happening from *within* the USA, not from people entering from the southern border. WTF? Trump never gave spreading of the virus as a reason for his temporary ban. Never uttered a word of this. His reason was the fact that there are 22 million unemployed Americans right now and they should have first shot at jobs as the shut-down of the economy is relaxed and people are able to go back to work. He has *never* said it has anything to do with spreading the virus. Maddow is an intelligent person. I used to watch her show fairly regularly before all this political division started. Does she really believe the bull**** she delivers or has MSNBC made it a requirement culturally and politically to just make **** up? -- This email has been checked for viruses by AVG. https://www.avg.com |

She has an image to maintain, and can come up with some bazaar things for a waiting and hungry crowd. Really amazing, actually. |

Her claims last night irritated me enough to post this on the "Rachel Maddow Show" Facebook page about 15 minutes ago: "I watched your show Tuesday night as you criticized Trump for his temporary ban on immigrants, green card applications etc, on our southern border. Then you lost me. You blamed him for trying to prevent further spread of the covid-19 virus and you pointed out that the spread of the virus was from *within* the USA, not from immigrants. Where did you get this from? Trump *never* said such a thing or gave it as a reason for his temporary ban. He said it's because we now have 22 million unemployed due to the economic shut-down of the country and, as the shut-down is relaxed, jobs should first be made available to US citizens. You also never mentioned the exceptions to his ban. I used to watch your show regularly before the political division in this country took root and respected your intelligence and fairness. What happened to it? And BTW, despite what you may think, I am *not* a "Trumpster". I just respect fairness and honesty in reporting news." Now I am watching to see how long it takes MSNBC to delete my post. :-) -- This email has been checked for viruses by AVG. https://www.avg.com |

In fact those are some of the unemployed right now. Dish washers, bus boys and hotel cleaners are also having a hard time finding work. If everything is carry out and the hotels are empty, they don't need those people. It really sucks if the contractor the hotel hired for that labor was paying illegals off the books because they won't get anything. (unless they live in a sanctuary city that doesn't vet the "unemployed".) |

I used to think you were one of the brighter right of center posters here, but in the last year or so, you've devolved into a virtually complete mindless Trumpster. Trump is anti-immigrant because he is a racist and that anti-immigrant stance has great appeal among the deplorables that make up his base voters. Just this past Monday, Trump tweeted up conflicting reasons for stating he wanted to restrict immigration, and among these was his usual fear-mongering in regard to immigrants who might have the virus. It wouldn't surprise me to see a video of you participating in one of those Trumpster "End the stay at home" now rallies. I didn't see the Maddow show...I don't watch the cable hosts, any of them, very much. But Maddow certainly has a lot more credibility on any issue than Trump has. Sad to say, what little is left of intelligent discussion in this newsgroup has itself devolved to the mindless level of your Florida buddy, the one you kept telling us was "very bright" because he got into the Navy or some such nonsense. Whatever "newbies" who might have wandered into this sewer pit must leave almost immediately when they see that 99% of the posts concern themselves with kissing Trump's ass. The *only* thoughtful posts from the right come from Fretwell, and even he is pretty much a Trumpster. Sad, bigly. -- MAGA - Manipulating America's Gullible Assholes |
