The slaughter of natives really had nothing to do with religion. And most
of the natives died of disease, not violence. You realize Pizarro only had
125 conquistadors? Local tribes banded with him to defeat other tribes.
So the foreigners were not the total problem. And were not Christians
during the heart of living people.

valuables. And getting slave labor by the Spanish.

I suppose you can rewrite history if you like but the expansion into
the west was more economic than religious. It was a way for immigrants
to exploit resources without any particular investment other than
being willing to go get them. If the natives got in the way, they got
"got".
