I know what you’re saying, Greg. But this wasn’t for the US market anyhow. This was hardened (not Bakelite) rubber and with care made to last a loooong time. |

I am not sure about the longevity of the PVC deal but my buddy who
built one says when it gets louder, you just replace the caps. It is BB gun loud with regular .22 LR ammo out of a 4-5" Ruger bull barrel. I think it is quieter than my CO2 pistol. That is probably because a significant amount of powder is still burning when the bullet comes out. They say the same thing about the SOCOM M1A |

I suspect a 2 liter pop bottle would be as good. I tried the 2 liter bottle thing and even with a .22 it is loud as hell. OTOH a 3/8" MC cable connector with 1/2" IPS thread will friction fit on most .22 barrels. and that works fine with a 1/2" NPT to 1.5" slip PVC bushing. (or reducing coupling if you can find one) |

Did you miss this Connie, or do you just not have the balls to address it? I see you're stupidly sticking your head out of the sand to suckup to Harry! The YouTube vids I have seen depicting the oil filter suppressors in use indicate they do work to some degree. My .22LR suppressor quiets firearms down to the point where they sound like an office electric staple gun, and the 9mm suppressor is damned close to that degree of "quiet-tude." Hard to beat a suppressor, though, on a bolt-action .22LR rifle. That's as close to a "movie-sounding" suppressor as I've encountered. A bolt action, single-shot .22LR pistol with a suppressor would be an assassin's dream, I suppose. |
