I have to admit that I've never enjoyed a Vietnam documentary of any kind. But, based on your recommendation, I'll give it a shot. Most of today is supposed to be rainy anyway, and there's no golf to watch. Besides, Tiger really disappointed me last weekend. I had put off some outdoor projects thinking this week would be a washout. Last week the weather people were working overtime issuing dire warnings of severe thunderstorms, torrential rains, flash flooding and all sorts of calamities in our area starting last Saturday night and lasting for most of this week. I think I heard one, distant soft roll of thunder Saturday morning and we had a few sprinkles that didn't even wet the roadways. Yesterday was sunny but humid with a few clouds but no rain. Looks like today will be similar. Maybe if I go out and start my projects the rain will quickly begin. We need some rain around here. Lawns are drying up and running sprinklers doesn't help ... just a waste of water. |

One product that cought my eye was a whole body shaker that claimed to cure everything but cancer. The price range was from 1100 to 2500 dollars. A few minutes on the machine left you feeling pretty good. A quick check on Amazon brought up prices around 200 dollars. Web MD says there could be some minor benefit to using the machine but most of the claims are bogus. It pays to check things out before you buy. They do make some fairly critical comments about the Phoenix Program. LBJ does not come out well in this show. His own recordings are the worst evidence about the lies he was telling the American public. They are trashing Nixon now. (episode 7&8) He perpetuated the lies. I have been working on the lawn tractor here. I had a piece of the deck that broke, parts are unavailable so I fabricated the part. The Ed Labrador Memorial Bridge is pretty much done. I may still have a couple lights I want to put up at the top but the wiring is in place. |

Crikey...you drove your bus from Florida to Wyoming to attend an RV rally? Why? Hell, man, maybe Greyhound will hire you to drive a real cross country bus. We're flying out to North Dakota in September with stops in Montana and South Dakota, where I'll catch up with an old college friend we used to call Der Fliegende Holländer, because he is of Dutch ancestry and flew a small, light plane. He actually is a retired dentist who now lives on the farm he inherited from his folks. I spent a week on that farm about 55 years ago. Hopefully, we'll be avoiding RV venues. Cooler and dryer there. 1700 other rv's attended the rally too. If I were heading towards somewhere where 1700 RVers were gathering, I'd head in the opposite direction. :) So would they. :) |
Great Movie!

Well worth watching. The 10 part Ken Burns Vietnam show is on Netflix now. That is a good binge show. You might even recognize some of the stuff although they do seem to be talking more about the Marines in the first few shows I have seen. We had over 6" here on Saturday. Yesterday morning loud thunder and lots of rain. Off and on throughout the day. Today's forecast is 100% chance of thunderstorms throughout the day. I've got a new bug deflector for the truck. Hopefully it'll dry up long enough to install it. https://www.carid.com/images/avs/ite...d-oncar-03.jpg Pretty. The whole front of my camper is covered with bugs. It'll probably take an hour to clean up. Today we do the beartooth highway. We've done it before but this time we have a dashcam. Sounds like fun. I put this stuff on my rig this spring. Seems to work very well at making bugs easy to get off. https://www.amazon.com/Corrosion-Tec... 0_&dpSrc=srch Where are you? We are in Glacier today. Going to violent Canada tomorrow. Waterton. Forecast for some rain tomorrow. I'm home. Justan is out running around burning up our non-renewable resources and contributing to global warming. Just got back from an all day Red Bus tour, to a busted air conditioner. |
