Not really. The majority of people in the military in the late 60s/early 70s were nowhere near SE Asia. We had lots of people in Europe, Navy guys who were never attached to any ships affecting the war even if they were in the Pacific along with everyone in the other oceans and all of the guys in the USAF who were on SAC duties. Then there were just the ones who never left the USA. (a surprisingly big number) I helped the SEA conflict as I fix radars on transports at Travis AFB. Lots flying to Asia. |
