I don't think I've had McDonald's fries (or anything else there for that
matter) for about 10 years.
Are they better? Used to taste like a salty, wet stick or at least what
I imagine a salty, wet stick would taste like.
.....
occasionally when traveling I might grab something through the drive-up,
but, I?ve never really been a McDonald?s fan either.
They have good coffee, and a senior price. Other than that, I used to like
the sausage biscuit for breakfast when traveling.
I don't find much I really like at McD. We had one across the parking
lot from our Ft Myers office and I would walk over there if I was
really busy and did not have time to go somewhere. I would usually get
some kind of regular sized sandwich and a salad with iced tea. It was
still a last resort sort of thing.
I worked in Wendys and Burger King, of the two I prefer BK but there
is a huge difference in the sanitation and even the quality of the
food between stores, even in the same general area. At the very least
you should look around a little. If you see something yucky from the
counter, just imagine what it looks like in the back and you are
probably not wrong.
If you buy two McChicken $1 sandwiches, throw away one bun and put the
chicken on the other, you've
got a decent chicken sandwich for $2.
Back before McD had sold billions of burgers, we would buy a dozen at 14
cents each, take them back to where we worked on our race cars and toss
half the buns.
Smart.
