Been listening to a scanner I recently bought.
All kinds of excitement today.

Some 40 something year old is holed up in a house about
3 miles from me with a rifle and a shotgun. He called
911 and apparently wants a shoot-out with police to
commit suicide.

Currently, the police have called in a SWAT team, set up
a perimeter, stopped all traffic in the area and are
setting up for the long haul trying to talk the guy
out of it. So far, no luck.

From what I can decipher, another drug use situation.

families of the victims of the latest school shooting. *That* is a stupid

Ha. After several hours of a standoff it turns out the guy wasn't
even in the house. He was out riding his bicycle. Cops found him
and deposited him at the hospital for mental evaluation.
