BTW, what do "Democratic Socialists" believe in?

Voting themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.

That more aptly describes Trump, his family, and his appointees.

How is that?

Oh, special deals on condos, isolation phone booths, promotion and hotel
rentals at Trump hotel in DC, promotion of Mar-a-Lago, overseas
deals...don't you read the news?

I am not a big fan of corporate welfare. I will say everyone in these
targeted businesses get them tho and they always pass congress with
wide bipartisan support. I do think Trump should be comping the
government the use of his resorts when he is visiting. He certainly
should not be recovering more than the actual cost.
I said from day one that hotel in DC was troubling. The beef I have
always agreed with was the conflicts of interest.
It is the problem you have when you put a person with businesses into
the White House but it is not a new problem. George Washington had
serious conflicts of interest. It is quite possible that Washington
walked away from the presidency because his business had advanced to
the point that these conflicts may have become troubling to his
critics.

I have a big problem with lots of corporate welfare. Elon and Tesla
getting 5 or so years of no property tax to put a battery plant in Nevada.
How about small business that are already there? They and the rest of
the people do not get a tax holiday. I have a friend I grew up with that
has a manufacturing business in a small town south of Reno. Where was his
tax exemption? He employs a bunch of people. How about Resnick,
billionaire supporter of the Liberal wing of the Democrats. Gets
subsidized water for his farms in the westlands Water District. Seems he
has secondary water rights, but has finagled it in to primary rights.
Pays about $9 an acre foot, which costs $60-70 an acre foot to deliver.
Then they resell some of that water for $300+ an acre foot to he cities.
