Perhaps you don't know any more about those Nordic countries than you do about our govenment here. Here's a bit from Wiki: The Nordic model (also called Nordic capitalism or Nordic social democracy)refers to the economic and social policies common to the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Sweden). This includes a combination of free market capitalism with a comprehensive welfare state and collective bargaining at the national level with a high percentage of workers belonging to a labour union; and state provision of free education and free healthcare as well as generous, guaranteed pension payments for retirees funded by taxation. Although there are significant differences among the Nordic countries, they all share some common traits. These include support for a "universalist" welfare state aimed specifically at enhancing individual autonomy and promoting social mobility; a corporatist system involving a tripartite arrangement where representatives of labor and employers negotiate wages and labor market policy mediated by the government;and a commitment to widespread private ownership, free markets and free trade. The country has the fourth-highest per capita income in the world on the World Bank and IMF lists. On the CIA's GDP (PPP) per capita list (2015 estimate) which includes autonomous territories and regions, Norway ranks as number eleven. It has the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, with a value of USD 1 trillion. Norway has had the highest Human Development Index ranking in the world since 2009, a position also held previously between 2001 and 2006. It also has the highest inequality-adjusted ranking. Norway ranks first on the World Happiness Report, the OECD Better Life Index, the Index of Public Integrity, and the Democracy Index. Norway also has one of the lowest crime rates in the world. My buddy has a nice house, a good pension, and top of the line health care. 21st Century socialism works nicely. You should apply for asylum in Norway however take note that their standards for permanent residence have been tightened. Yeah, I know how it grates on you righties that other countries are doing a lot better than the dis-United States... The USA is not Norway nor is it like any other country on the planet. Ask your buddy how the older Norwegians still alive today how they felt about being occupied by Germany starting in 1940 and lasting throughout the rest of WWII. Ask them how they felt about receiving $400M in USA aid to help recover from the war. Then tell me about how awful the USA is. I suspect that if we didn't have a large ocean separating us from Europe, we, too, would have been at least partially occupied by Germany for some time. WWII has been over for more than 70 years. Most Norwegians who remember the German occupation are likely pushing up daisies or tulips, as are all the Southerners in this country who remember the Civil War. The point is, Norway and Norwegians are doing quite well and have less worries about their jobs, their health, the ability to educate their kids, and their retirements than Americans. So? Move. Perhaps a more realistic solution is to improve the quality of life for all people here with better jobs, better income security, better health care, and better retirement, and not worry so much about how well the really wealthy are doing. A more reasonable aproach would be to get rid of leeches like Fat Harry Krause. The socialist countries of Europe have very stringent immigration laws. I am afraid we are stuck with him. :-) What about Costa Rica? I heard him speaking favorably about those chica girls. Many chica ticas are very pretty, but you'd strike out...they like guys who are fluent in Spanish or English. |

Greenbacks, the universal language of love. Seems as if Harry’s not fluent in Greenbacks, and probably not in Spanish either. |

John Herring The Racist...spill more lies
"Nothing was said about a race. And, I've never 'belittled' a race." Y'all think you are slick using the names of cities and areas within those cities to belittle its under priviledged Â*citizens you are fooling nobody, John Herring The Racist. I'm going to start keeping a dossier on your racist remarks to throw back at you. Hope your grandkids never search your name for a school project. It could be embarrassing for them. |

Help yourself, Don White. You won't find any. Saying Chicago has a murder problem is not a racist comment, although you anti-gun liberals would like to make it one. To say there is a huge academic achievement gap between black and white students is not 'racist'. It is a fact. It's a shameful fact, but it's a fact. "The Coleman Report (mandated by the Civil Rights Act of 1964) found, among many other things, that in both math and reading the average black student in grade 12 placed in the 13th percentile of the score distribution, meaning that 87 percent of white students in grade 12 scored ahead of the average black 12th grader." "But 50 years later, that gap has barely narrowed, Hanushek's analysis shows. The average 12th grade black student, according to data from the 2013 National Assessment for Educational Progress, placed only in the 19th percentile. In reading, the achievement gap has improved slightly more than in math, but after a half century, the average black student scores at just the 22nd percentile." Both you and Harry seem to confuse 'facts' with racial slurs. In this specific case, *you* are the one who interjected 'racism' into the thread. Funny, eh Don White? |
