I like renting equipment. Stuff like that is trivial with a man lift. At a certain point it is easier to just drop the tree. That is what we did with the big fichus in the yard. Problem with just dropping a tree, is location. I just paid $1800 to have two Italian Alders cut down. Drought casualties. But 40’ tall near the house. Got a discount for keeping most the wood for the wood stove. My buddy got a discount for letting them take the wood. He's up north where there's a good market for firewood. Here, they most likely have to pay to get rid of it, or the sales price is probably not high. Is alder, which is good for smoking fish, but not oak quality firewood He has oaks for sure. That makes sense. |
