No, Timmy, I was in college and I saw no need to enlist to help
slaughter a million SE Asians in an absolutely absurd war.

Besides, when you were 18, there was no war, at least not one we would
admit to.

The question should have been...why would I want to shoot at SW Asians
for any reason, since they represented no threat to the United States or
its allies, well, except maybe to the totally corrupt South Vietnamese
government, eh?

Maybe that worked for you. I wasn't drafted and I wasn't stupid enough
to give up college and the beginnings of a career to enlist and fight in
a war against people who represented no threat to the United States and
its democratic allies.

I was a part time college student, also learning computers while being paid
by NCR. As to a career, I made more per year than my college professor
stepfather before I got my university degree.
