LMAO! That was funny!

What'd you do, look up 'COD' and grab the first thing you saw?

Holy ****!

A simple 'grunt' like y'all might not be up on Navy lingo. I've lived almost all my life in a Navy town and Justine claims to have served in the 'merican wavy navee...so of course I would think of a Navy term when I saw COD. Also I've seen a few videos on the new Gerald Ford class carriers lately and on last night's news they had military personnel down refurbishing the anchor monument from our last aircraft carrier.

What's " merican wavy navee"? Is that how the queers up there
refer to the greatest navy in the world?

Largest for sure. Greatest? How can a naveee that accepts morons like
you be the greatest?

I agree wholeheartedly with this post!

No, Timmy, I was in college and I saw no need to enlist to help
slaughter a million SE Asians in an absolutely absurd war.

Afraid they might shoot back huh?
Besides, when you were 18, there was no war, at least not one we would
admit to.

The question should have been...why would I want to shoot at SW Asians
for any reason, since they represented no threat to the United States or
its allies, well, except maybe to the totally corrupt South Vietnamese
government, eh?

Because a Democrat President said you should.

They just looked at your course of study and decided you had no skills

What war? Didn't you tell us you graduated HS in the very early 60s?
One of the reasons I joined the CG was there was no war going on and I
was not interested in being in the Sgt Bilko/Elvis army. That was 64,
years after you say you got out of HS.

I did not see it as rigor. I saw it as boring, spending way more time
catering to the dummies than it took to learn rudimentary concepts.
I preferred the tempo of schools that were not interested is seeing
how long they could string out your education. They wanted to see how
fast you could learn and get out in the field using the information.

I had enough other opportunities available within the basic structure
that I was OK. In the end I passed on some of the most lucrative ones
(short term) I was an instructor for a while, I worked in plant tech
support, I had no real interest in management (probably a good thing
since they took most of the early layoffs) and I did not want to be a
systems analysts (again the first to go). None of them would have been
easier to get with a degree anyway.
When the opportunity to run a 6 man resident territory opened up in
Florida I jumped on it and ended up at the top of the box anyway.
Being a non-exempt level 23** I made more money than my boss ;-)

Harry is younger than me so he would have gotten a draft lottery number in
1969-70. Applied to birth years 1944 on. I was born 1943,but had already
been sent a draft notice in 1964. His deferments hid him for at least
6years with a masters degree. So maybe they were not drafting 24 year olds
then, and he did not have a critical skill degree.

government, eh?

Years after your eligibility, LBJ was still saying there was no chance
that you would have to shoot at anyone. (unless we are moving your age
around again)

My age isn’t moving, other than year by year. My undergrad deferment ended
in the mid 1960s. Once again, you are spewing hot air but no substance.

You were 18 during the JFK administration, What war?

I was still subject to the draft years later...in fact, I seem to
remember getting a lottery number in 1969 or 1970. I don't remember my
number, but I do recall it was a high number. It's funny that you try to
come across so sure of yourself, but you simply don't have the facts
straight.

You were subject to the draft the day you turned 18. You just hid out
in school for 4 years with a deferment.

Darn...you mean I didn't get edu-ma-cated in some field useful enough to
get myself drafted during our war against SE Asia? Darn, darn,
darn...I'm so disappointed. :)

And once again, I got my B.A. and M.A. in five years, not six.

Moron. Back in your day, if you could fog a mirror, you could enlist in
the naveee...if you wanted...

....

Harry, did you have problems fogging a mirror then?

No, Timmy, I was in college and I saw no need to enlist to help
slaughter a million SE Asians in an absolutely absurd war.

Afraid they might shoot back huh?
Besides, when you were 18, there was no war, at least not one we would
admit to.

The question should have been...why would I want to shoot at SW Asians
for any reason, since they represented no threat to the United States or
its allies, well, except maybe to the totally corrupt South Vietnamese
government, eh?

My buddy had BS in math and they did not think that would make him a
better gook killer, they thought he would be a better computer whiz
and that is what they drafted him for. He spent most of his enlistment
in a computer center in Germany.
Evidently a MA in some liberal arts field was not very attractive to
the government at that time or they would have called you too.
