There's another period that bears comparison and that's Orwell's 1984 (or,
more accurately, England 1948). Bush's presidency will be historically
revealed as Karl Rove's Big Brother communications experiment. He's proven
the methodology still works as well as ever. One can only hope it's just
another outbreak and something will slap us back to consciousness.
