Default Interesting history of Smith & Wesson

Long, but interesting read especially when S&W is headquartered in
liberal Massachusetts:

Why do you suppose that historically, the most significant U.S.
manufacturers of firearms were founded and thrived in liberal New
England, especially Massachusetts and Connecticut?

I suspect it's because when those companies were founded the New England
area was not particularly "liberal". Political Liberalism (is that a
word?) didn't come until much later.

Remington was the first, located in NY. Today, most "New England" gun
manufacturers have moved to more gun friendly states, including North
and South Carolina, Texas and others. Even in your state Beretta
closed its Maryland plant and moved all US production to Gallatin,
Tennessee..

Maybe because it is an industry that started during colonial times
when there was nothing but indians and cotton farmers living anywhere
else?

Yeah Harry skipped over the "innovation" of the AR rifles in
California too.
