Are you all watching? Our girls are doing pretty well.
BTW did "Rocky and Bullwinkle" really get the silver in the woman's
giant slaloms?
I heard them say it but they never put up the graphic with her name.

I won't dispute your point there is little interesting on TV. If I can't
find anything on the science, nature, history, channels, et cetera, I
just open the book I am reading to my bookmark.

I'm watching, but not all that happy. I missed Mikaela's run. Seems like whenever I watch we lose.
The US loss to the Canadians in hockey yesterday was a downer. Oh well, the summer olympics will be
here before long.

I do enjoy seeing the Netherlanders tearing up the speed skating events.

I have pretty much given up on regular TV anyway. If you get started
on You Tube in the science and history shows you can find the best of
TV, US and around the world, commercial free. Once you get into a
genre, you can just click the suggested next shows but you can also
use the search function to explore other things. Most PBS shows are
there. They also have the History, Discovery, Animal etc channels.

As Katie Couric says, that is how they get around in Amsterdam,
skating on the canals ;-) (why do we ever listen to these idiots)
I set my DVR to anything "olympic" so we have just about everything.
It will be something to watch later.
I did hear the woman's name again, she is running against Mikeala
again in the slalom. (probably over now) and it sure sounds like her
name is "Rocky and Bullwinkle" to me.

That is why I record this stuff. I can fast forward over things I
don't care about. Curling is interesting for a little while but I am
not going to spend the evening watching it. The biathalon is
interesting too. Those boys and girls can shoot, all the while cross
country skiing. There is no shooting between heartbeats when your
heart rate is 150-160. I didn't mind seeing that arrogant French guy
drop his last 2 shots and lose.
I also like watching the snowboard and some of the alpine stuff. The
skeleton is just nuts.. They are belly whopping head first on tiny
little sleds hitting 80MPH or more.

Reminds me of those folks on Amazon who answer a question about a product:

Answer: I don't know, I don't have a fireplace.

It was really only 2 on the gold run but it was the last 2. I think he
was already writing his comments for the TV interview and forgot he
had not won yet.
Fourcade is not that good a skier but he prides himself on his
shooting. It was interesting that Boe, the winner missed two also and
made up the 2 minutes plus some on his skis. The silver and bronze
shot clean.

Not watching.

It is really the only interesting thing on TV.
I am done with murder, mayhem and the Trump witch hunt.

I won't dispute your point there is little interesting on TV. If I can't
find anything on the science, nature, history, channels, et cetera, I
just open the book I am reading to my bookmark.

OH!, You missed a fascinating and awe filled evening of Curling!

Mikek

Agreed on the Frenchman. My Dutch friend thought it was funny and appropriate that this 'hero'
missed so many shots!

The silver and bronze
shot clean.

We talked after the first event in which Fourcade missed three shots.

I just saw the final of the 20KM. We have 20 hours or so in the can
that we have not seen yet. Once you skip over the stuff we don't care
about that will go pretty fast. The weather has just been too nice to
sit in the house.

The USA is working hard to lose to the Russians. Hope that doesn't ruin your viewing.

Not watching.

Then no need to respond. OK?

He's needing attention.

Reminds me of those folks on Amazon who answer a question about a product:

Question: Will this insert fit my fireplace?

Answer: I don't know, I don't have a fireplace.

Duh!

Yup. Good example.

Vonn made a big boo, boo at the end of her run. She was probably thinking about her absence if and
when Trump invites the team to the White House. I'm sure she'll be making the news then. I wrote a
letter to the Olympic committee telling them her anti-Trump antics cost them any more contributions
as long as she's on the team.

I am not really watching the hockey.
I will admit that when the top 13 places in the super G are separated
by a fraction of a second, it does not take much of a mistake to be on
the wrong side of that. I watched the recording and it is hard to even
see that mistake. NBC CGIed Vonn running with Ledecka and she could
have hit Ledecka with a ski pole at the finish if they were running
together.
Even "Rocky and Bulwinkle" (Ragnhild MOWINCKEL) was inside that one
second margin at 0.89 back.
These skiers were all very well matched.

Vonn went way right of the line (outside the blue) and had to come back in for the next flag.
Probably only cost her a couple tenths of a second, but like you say, they were all close.

I miss amateur hockey. We saw the preliminary hockey game USA - Canada.
First hockey game I ever saw. I was in Explorer Scouts and someone
donated a bunch of tickets. So we went. Clear and cold. Did not have
good boots for the snow and even with extra socks, feet froze. Our group
made the TV as we cheered for all the ladies, no matter what country, in
the figure skating competition.
