Amid a building frenzy there might be salvation for one old building.
Way back in the '70s a 2nd cousin of mine and a Braintree Mass boy (he was actually born in Halifax but his Italian/American father moved them south) tried to put in a bid to buy this property. Believe my Virgin Island buddy was also trying to worm his way in even though he seldom had two nickels to rub together.(spent like a drunken sailor).

This city sometimes prides itself on it's past.
examples..Citadel Hill National Historic Site, Historic Properties, numerous museums etc.
Besides...where y'all see a "tired old tenement", more progressive people see a beautiful old building needing a bit of TLC. Imagine the stories that building could tell!

Sounds like it needs more than a little TLC. There will have to be big
concessions from the government on fees and taxes, to make restoration
fiscally sound. Would cost less to Demo and build new.

Progressives don't think that way. They wouls support tearing that
eyesore down and replacing it with a mosque.
