Of course this meant paying the makeup artist and renting a coffin so I could go view and confirm that it was her. What, if it wasn't her in the coffin she wouldn't be dead anymore? The idea was to make sure the right body was going to cremation...and hopefully to get the correct ashes back. Plus of course to gouge as much as they can while they can. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. What the 'ell difference would it make? |

Sounds like a future EPA superfund site to me, assuming ******** Trump hasn't disbanded the EPA by then. Corpses are the ultimate biodegradable item. It is only when we go out of out way to preserve them that they last more than a few weeks. It is a good thing or we would be up to our ass in dead things. |

When the funeral home tried to sell me a casket for my mother, I asked, "Why, she's going to be cremated. Why buy a casket that will be burnt? The VA conveyed my dad's remains in a cardboard box along with a flag. It actually worked out fine. It was the same with my mom, sans flag. We chartered a 6 pack and buried my dad in the gulf with his flag flying from the tuna tower. My mom went off the dock behind her home. My sister was sort of amazed that I had her ashes in some antique cookie jar when she got down here. Evidently I was supposed to know it was some kind of special family heirloom. I told her, what is more special than mom? I planned on burying the whole thing but she took the cookie jar home. I think the whole secret about the jar went to the grave with my sister because there were cookies in the jar the last time I was up there. I just smiled. |

I'll just bet they wish they'd had Don White check the spelling on all those labels! Don't know why all y'all are so worried about this. If all y'all died in Nova Scotia they just feed your decaying corpse to the sharks that like to vacation off our coast. Lighten up. Was a funny comment. You and Harry need to see the wizard for a humor gene. So was mine, Billy. We wouldn't feed The John or one of his biggest turds to the sharks. The sharks haven't done anything to us. They just come and vacation here. This summer it was a Great White the locals and media named Hilton. Your comment was nasty, not funny. You need to see the Wizard Oh no...did I upset you, or hurt your feelings? Have another drink...it'll pass. Both wrong on the drinking and hurt my feelings. Your comment was just nasty. No humor included. |

Was interesting when we went to the town of Bodio Switzerland where my wife’s great grandmother emigrated from. Oldest grave in a very old graveyard was only about 1875. When we went to Salzburg the local guide said was oldest continuously used graveyard in Europe. From about 1 AD. But gravestones only went back to about 1850. She said only the last 5 people buried in the grave get a marker. Repurposed to the max. |

That story was all over the local news yesterday. When Mom dies about 6 years ago, they insisted that we have a viewing prior to cremation to avoid a mix up like the one out west at that time. Of course this meant paying the makeup artist and renting a coffin so I could go view and confirm that it was her. Why a makeup artist and coffin rental, if the whole purpose is just to ensure the body is the correct one? It's BS. |

Wife worked with the wife of one of the funeral directors where her mother went. He said he'd identify her mother for her ...no need for viewing etc. Saved almost $2K. You will buy anything anyone is selling. Boats, cars, funerals, what's next? |
