"And contrary to the dire warnings of California officials, a large swath of Bay Area workers and
their families stand to get a tax break as well, even with new limits on state and local tax
deductions."

I found a more detailed calculator and it still gets me to the $2399
extra number. (when I add the extra $1300 for one senior)
http://taxplancalculator.com/

The funny thing is when I punched in Maryland and the 17/18 real
estate taxes my ex pays, I get the same number so even with state
income tax and real estate tax, the double standard deduction is still
the best deal.

I'll save $163 with that calculator.

Using that calculator I'd save $3512.

Can't bitch about that.
