Wow. A whole 5 of them...

All that winning... Trump endorsed not one but two Republican
candidates who ultimately lost their races.

Trump’s first loss came with Luther Strange, the former Alabama
attorney general who was appointed to take Jeff Sessions’ Senate
seat when Sessions became the U.S. attorney general. Trump backed
Strange in the Republican primary race for Senate, though he later
expressed some regrets about that decision.

“I’ll be honest, I might have made a mistake,” Trump said at a
September rally in Alabama. “If his opponent wins, I’m going to be
here campaigning like hell for him.”

Trump kept his word and endorsed the eventual Republican Senate
candidate, Roy Moore, even as multiple allegations of sexual
misconduct and child molestation plagued Moore’s campaign.

Trump reiterated his support for Moore as voters took to the polls
Tuesday morning.

I wonder how badly he would have lost had Trump not supported him?

I think black voters in Alabama and college-educated white women in
Alabama recognized Roy Moore as the worst sort of scumbag. Worry not
about Roy, though...he's consoling himself by visiting a shopping mall.

.......

What gets me is that if he’s supposedly so evil then how was he an elected Judge all those years?

Seems like all this stuff starts coming to the top (after 30+ years) when he decides to run for a senate seat...

Politics....

He was removed from his judgeships twice for breaking the law, and in
recent years, too. He's a scumbag who uses the bible to get the support
of simple-minded people.

I was talked big about how he got to the jurist bench to begin with, not what he did after he was there...twice?
Supposed a scumbag that was a judge...twice?

Lol!

Moore was removed from office twice. From Wiki:

Moore was removed from his position in November 2003 by the Alabama
Court of the Judiciary for refusing a federal court's order to remove a
marble monument of the Ten Commandments he had installed in the lobby of
the Alabama Judicial Building.

Moore was again elected Chief Justice in 2013, but was suspended in May
2016, for directing probate judges to continue to enforce the state's
ban on same-sex marriage although the US Supreme Court had ruled this to
be unconstitutional. Following an unsuccessful appeal, Moore resigned in
April 2017.

Unlawful bible-thumping and religious bigotry did him in. Moore is the
genuine article: a real asshole. He's also a racist, but, hey, he knows
a Jew. I checked with one of my "Jew" friends, who was astonished to
learn there were *any* Jews living in Alabama.

Outside of partisan politics, the GOP and many of their voters did the right thing.

"Still, many Washington Republicans viewed the defeat of Moore as perhaps the best outcome for the party nationally despite the short-term sting. The fiery Christian conservative's positions have alienated women, racial minorities, gays and Muslims - in addition to the multiple allegations that he was guilty of sexual misconduct with teens, one only 14, when he was in his 30s.

"Short-term pain, long-term gain," former Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman, a Republican, tweeted. "Roy Moore and Steve Bannon losing tonight is big win for the GOP. ... Moore would have buried GOP in 2018."

A number of Republicans declined to support Moore, including Alabama's long-serving Sen. Richard Shelby."

Kind of reminds you of the last presidential election. :)
