The only reason the federal AWB is gone is they wrote a sunset in it. The loopholes had been exploited to the point that it was meaningless anyway. We imported and sold ~2 million Chinese "thumb hole" AK clones (and other similar weapons) in the 10 years after the law was passed. That was many times more than they had sold or imported previously. The revelation that this Vegas guy was actually using a bump stock sort of gutted the intent of NFA34 too. If there is a will, or a loophole, there is a way .... like Harry driving to Virginia to get an otherwise illegal cache of hi cap magazines. |
