- show quoted text - Actually, you thought wrong. I don't care who Trump backed. Both candidates were dog****, though Moore seems as unbalanced mentally as Trump. And Trump's candidate wasn't *predicted* to win in any of the recent polls. So, "things" in Alabama went as predicted. Thank you for your usual political ignorance. ..... Political ignorance? What's there to be ignorant about. Moore won a primary. Now why don't you predict how the election will be. I'm sure Rachel will let you share her crystal ball... |

You mean, as in the Eisenhower era, when tax rates were so much higher? In that era, it was considered shameful to be on welfare, and folks generally got off of it as quickly as they could. Today we have generations of people gaming the system and seemingly proud of it. |

You mean, as in the Eisenhower era, when tax rates were so much higher? Nope. Tax rates should probably be higher. But those tax rates had a lot more exemptions. Average total tax rate for a family in 1952 was 22%. Total. All taxes. State, sales, excise, etc. Ike built infrastructure, not a welfare society. |
