I have probably ridden it for 20 years of fishing. Asked and the boat is 52 years old. Extremely well maintained. We were fishing Yellowfin tuna today. Had forgot my passport and the Coronado Island trips require Passport. But the offshore tuna fishing broke open, so non passport trips were offered. I landed 4 fish, probably to 25 pounds. Lost a couple. Limit is 5. Fish Mexican waters, probably the most we were South of SD was 35 miles. Rain early this morning, but turned in to a nice day, fair seas. Am going to test drive the Hobie I11s inflatable kayak tomorrow. Too hard to get the Outback on top of a 9' RV roof. Cool...was this an overnighter or a day trip? It was a fishing boat, dummy. Harry was correct. San Diego Fleet has a large variety of boats. 1/2 day, morning or afternoon local trips. 3/4 day 5:30 am to 6pm, no bunks, does have a grill and cook. Overnight boats that run 1-3 day trips and then the long range boats that run 7-15 day trips. I have not gone on a long range trip for 3 years. The 7-8 day trips I have been on run to Rocas Illejos which is 465 miles from Point Loma docks. I like the Independence. Www.independencesportfishing.com |
