Got it. Nice boat.

That's really interesting. My news server (supernews.com) is allowing
me to upload binaries to non-binary groups but is not displaying them.
I assumed they were being deleted and not propogated but obviously
not. Thanks for the feedback.

Do you think it could be because you're using Agent?

===

No. I'm seeing Richard's binaries just fine, and you're seeing mine,
my Agent for both. Most likely it's because of Supernews but it seems
inconsistent.

You, Greg and I are using Agent and having no problems. Weird.

I seem to be able to post them but the only one I saw was Richards.
I tried with my old Agent and my new v.8, same thing. I also tried it
with the instance that I use for binaries in case it was just a
setting thing.

Has to be a server thing.

The strange thing is Richard uses Giganews and it works for him so it
is the interaction between Agent and Giganews. It may also be size
related since I only saw the one small schematic picture.
I will try a small one

Nope, an 80k JPG did not make the trip.
Maybe it was because it was an attachment to flat text and not
embedded in the original message as an HTML or something.

In the good old days with Giganews and others, you had to prep files
some before they were accepted. Maybe that has changed.

I have been using Giganews for 2 decades and I never have a problem
sending or receiving binaries from binary groups. Rarely I do see a
small image posted in a text group but it is rare.

I thought the only thing he saw was the picture he posted. Maybe Giganews allows the viewing of a
binary posted with Giganews.

But, but, but...it was good enough for you, eh? Now what, you want to be 'one of the guys'?

Yeah that was a picture I tool with the first digital camera I even
knew about. Sony Mavica with the diskette storage and a whopping
153,600 pixels, picture cropped and resampled.
It is a baby night heron on a nest and I did not want to get too
close.

OK, I give up. I wonder if Giganews, like Astraweb, has different servers with different 'rules'.
Astraweb has a US and an EU server. Right now I'm using the EU server 'cause I was having problems
with the US server.

My server only does text groups, and never see your attachments or embedded
picture. So whomever supplies Foreverseptember strips out jpg stuff.

I think most of the free news servers are text only.
