Is this a good deal? https://www.sportsmansguide.com/prod...unds?a=2145403 $.26 to .29 a round is a good price for Wolf Gold. I shoot a lot of it. Be mindful of the shipping charges, if any. Some suppliers scalp you on shipping. I've never had a misfeed or a FTF with the Wolf Gold in my Mini-14. |

I agree that they are aesthetically a lot more pleasing but there is a price for that. Also, do you really need a thousand rounds? For plinking you really can't beat a 22. |

Brass cases and non-ferrous bullets are easier on the rifle, and steel ammo usually is not allowed on indoor ranges. |

At the range I use, any ammo must be non-magnetic. No, I don't need a thousand rounds. I haven't even got the gun yet, and haven't checked the prices at WalMart. It's hard to find online prices that beat WalMart if WM has the stuff in stock. |

AK's and AR's don't care what casings you use. The Mini-14 might be different. |

The problem is cases made from other metal usually also come with steel cased bullets (AKA bi-metal) I will shoot them in my $150 Jennings SNS but not my Ruger or my M1A |

All of the steel case ammo I have seen also had a magnetic bullet. I have seen aluminum cased ammo with gilding metal bullets. |
