Sorry Harry ...
.... but I was just nosing around on your Facebook page. Read some of
the few comments on your timeline and then clicked on "Friends" to see how many you had there. A box appeared labeled "Friends" but it was blank other than: "No friends to show" Got a chuckle out of that one. |

That's what I've been told a number of times, although I've turned down or ignored a number of 'friend requests' I've never forgotten my experience with the L'il Snot guy from Connecticut or Scott Secord Dickson (alias Slammer) and their enablers, aiders and abetors. Not that I was worried about old friends and relatives threatening me and my family, but more worried of potentially exposing them to the likes of the named lowlife in here. No one deserves that! |

I don't do Facebook forums although there are two or three groups I visit from time to time just to read. I've become a little phobic about privacy issues and Facebook is known to be a source of info on you by marketeers, scammers, etc. Better to keep a low profile in this day and age, IMO. Believe it or not, I have "unfollowed" many people I am "friends" with because I got sick and tired of all the politics, both from those on the left and those on the right. You probably know that you can "unfollow" without "unfriending". Unfollowing just deletes their posts from your timeline. You can still go to their personal pages if there's something of interest to you. |

Harry obviously has his set on "friends only" and not "public". I knew that when I saw the "No friends to display" but I still got a kick out of it due to his reputation on rec.boats. Not being a right-winger in the rec.boats sea of right-wing ****ters will do that. Indeed, I have my FB settings set about as you have described. I do have a good number of Republicans on my friends list, including a few I have known for many decades. They're bright, know how to write, and are totally unlike many of the personally insulting TDC snarks like your Florida buddy and of course, the Racist Herring. One of my FB buds even knew my Republican mother. In all honestly, I think of rec.boats as a place for entertainment, a few chuckles here and there and an amateur debating society of sorts. It has certainly has changed since it was a legitimate boating forum although even then the debates were commonplace. I get a kick out of all the various personalities here and really don't take anything seriously. Sometimes I'll post something off the wall just to see the arrows fly. I prefer the FB forums. One of the reasons is that virtually everyone posts with their actual name. That tends to limit the "opportunities" of assholes like your buddy FlaJim. Only one of my FB friends posts under an assumed name, and that's because he's an undercover law enforcement fella who "outs" violent and violence-prone right-wing extremists. I've known him for 20+ years. Like I said, I don't take anything here seriously. Some, like FlaJim, maintain a rec.boats persona that isn't even close to their real life persona. Jim gets your goat because you take it so seriously and he knows it. I know you'll argue that, but it doesn't matter. I don't take ignorant assholes seriously, and that includes your buddy JIm. My guess is that in real life, he is even more of an ignorant ass. There is no evidence to the contrary. This is what I get a kick out of. You're right. You have no evidence and he has made sure of that. I have evidence as do others of what he's really like in real life. I agree. "Moron" is not a term used these days by mental health professionals. If you feel the need for a mental acuity examination, you probably don't want a psychiatrist. If you just want to determine if Alzheimer's is setting in, though, you could take the Self-Administered Gerocognitive Exam, or SAGE to see if you have the onset of cognitive and brain dysfunction. Read some of the few comments on your timeline and then clicked on "Friends" to see how many you had there. A box appeared labeled "Friends" but it was blank other than: "No friends to show" Got a chuckle out of that one. You have to be a FB friend to see that and most other info... Bull****. My wife and I are not 'Friends' on Facebook, yet I can see all her friends. Again, you're full of crap. Oh, to forestall your snide comments, we purposely don't want to see all the posts the other (especially Sandy) makes. If you had friends, you'd understand. Here's an example, just for you. Got to Mike Hoefle's home page. Click on 'Friends'. You'll see a bunch. Are you a friend of his? Neither am I. I've no idea who he is. https://www.facebook.com/mike.hoefle...=pb_friends_tl In fairness John, you can set up your Facebook page as public, friends only or totally private in terms of who can view it's content including the "friends list". My wife has an account for the grandkids viewing. But most posts I see from some of our friends kids on Facebook make me shake my head in wonder at the idiocy displayed. Who gives a crap what you had for breakfast? Lots of stuff ought to stay internal to you family also. AMEN!! The modern college kids have to be moronic. They know prospective employers will check out their social media accounts. And posting beer bongs, drug use, etc. makes for a limited employer pool. |
Sorry Harry ...

Maybe he was a anti-Union protester Do you play a moron in real life, too? ..... Are you qualified to give psychiatric evaluations? "Moron" is not a term used these days by mental health professionals. If you feel the need for a mental acuity examination, you probably don't want a psychiatrist. If you just want to determine if Alzheimer's is setting in, though, you could take the Self-Administered Gerocognitive Exam, or SAGE, to see if you have the onset of cognitive and brain dysfunction. It's available online. There's only one reason you'd know that. To confirm what we've known for a long time. Wrong, ****-for-brains. I read a lot, and I have diverse interests, and I have a bunch of bright friends with whom I discuss a variety of issues. And, of course, I have a live-in expert on mental health issues. |
