They operate on anywhere from 9-36 volts, and will consume less current than a standard halogen headlight. From the reviews it looks like some folks had to slightly modify their housing to mount them. Thanks. I may give it a shot. I had thought those LEDs were very sensitive to voltage fluctuations. Maybe they're making them more adaptable now. Those cheap LED flashlights are sensitive. Unlike an incandescent bulb than dims when the voltage drops, LED's are pretty much either on or off. So they work with practically no reduction in light output until the batteries drop below the turn-on point, then they quit. As others have pointed out, the bulb you are looking at has a regulator circuit that eliminates that issue. |
