The boat is hiding out in a secluded creek west of the St John's River south of Jacksonville. So far, so good. We'll go back tomorrow morning. |

If that goes away, it would not be good news. ;-) You just have to worry that it ends up on the hard when the surge subsides. I assume you had multiple anchors and lots of rode. |

Sounds like either Doctor's Lake or Black Creek. Good fishing area, but you have to be careful...the salinity really drops out there, and "there be gators aplenty" in some of those creeks. Whiteys Fish Camp on Doctors Lake used to have decent "fish camp" food, but I have no idea what is like these days...haven't been there in about 20 years. http://tinyurl.com/j8raqp8 Alligators don't jump into boats like his. |

Black Creek scores well on all counts however. |

Speed is your friend. :-) The only time I have heard of a gator attacking a boat, the people in the boat were screwing with the gator. Usually they get out of there as soon as you look at them in my river. Too many rednecks around here would have the skin on the side of the shed and the tail in the freezer. |
