You're an amusing old farts I must say. While you squabbled in here the wife and I took neighbours out in the Bayliner this afternoon for a harbour and North West Arm tour. Overtook HMCS Windsor as it steamed up the harbour on it's way back to the dockyard. It just arrived back from Norway where it participated in NATO exercises. BTW..it's a submarine. On the local news tv cameras caught my boat scooting past the sub's stern as it turned into the dockyard to a big welcome home from the crew's families. You are lucky you and your crew weren't blown out of the water. Navies are very protevtive of their subs. Did you read that somewhere, **** for brains? |

If you get too close to a sub, expect to be met by some guys in an RIB with .50 up front and no sense of humor. There are lots of stories on the real boat board about guys who wanted a closer look at a nuke boat. |

Even at slow speed they throw a HUGE bow wave. When Mare Island was still open, we saw lots of sub traffic. Only time navy made me move was near San Rafael Bridge fishing, and a munitions ship was transiting. |
