At least the Libertarians are not burning cars and breaking store windows I wouldn't bet on that. I know you wouldn't because you would lose. You don't hear much of that from Libertarians. You don't hear much of anything from libertarians. Hard to take them seriously. You don't hear much because the networks don't say much about them and after 1996, the 2 major parties shut them out of the debates. Nobody was prepared to answer Harry Browne's questions. These days the "debates" are nothing but 2 candidates, reading lines from their stump speech, no matter what the questions are. The result is that, since then, we are getting the inbred ******* children of the GHWB administration. There are so many interlocking relationships between both party's mainstream candidates that there is not much space between them. Guns, abortion and most recently gays seems to be the big things and I bet Hillary will run away from the gay thing as much as she can in the general. She is certainly in the pockets of the banksters and wall street as much as anyone (as was her hubby). She is also a neocon, more like McCain than most other democrats. |

My guess is that you don't hear much from the libertarians because they sound like a "fringe" party, way out there. If they were so fringe, why did Harry Browne scare them so badly, they shut him out of the debates after that? Of course some of it was Perot too. He also asked questions about the economy that they were not prepared to answer. They just want to read talking points from their stump speech without any real questions. BTW did you see the Stossel report on the elections? I know you would not normally watch Stossel or Fox but it was a pretty good show. He had Beckel and Rollins talking about how campaigns are really run. They dissected various campaigns from Nixon on. They talk about how the campaign keeps the candidate on message and how the whole thing is more about image than substance. It was actually taped around 2012 so Trump is not in it. It is worth a look if for nothing else, Beckel and Rollins. |
