Harry's Depression...why?
We've often wondered why Krause was so continuously bitter. While returning from Solomon's Island I
think I've discovered the reason. About four miles north of Huntingtown, on the way to D.C., is a barn. The barn, for years, has had an American flag painted on the side with a 'Dedicated to our Troops' emblem painted next to it. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...1/VIC_0048.jpg That in itself would be enough to give Harry some major heartburn, but now the owner has added a new twist. And this could well explain his attitude over the past several months. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...VIC_0047_1.jpg He gets to go by that every time he goes to D.C. No wonder Trump is always on his mind. |

Always thought he was a bit strange. I bet he feels the same about you. If he lived there for 20 or 30 years he remembers when that place was all "good old boys". Now it is just another bedroom community of DC. The people who could afford to get out of PG moved there. It is the same migration that has been going on since the 50s. The difference is the parts of DC that are gentrified, pushing the poor folks out to the beltway and the folks who were there either jump over the doughnut and go to town or they move farther out into tobacco country. |

Nah, the guy in question is a newcomer. This county still votes Repugnant for most but not all county and state offices, and for POTUS. Not much evidence, though, of Tea Bagger presence. The real nuts, forgive me, are the Loonytarians, who set up booths on occasion and hand out insane-reading literature. I see plenty of silly **** from Dumbocrats. At least the Libertarians are not burning cars and breaking store windows |

I can name dozens of riots from democrat leaning groups like the occupy punks, urban punks and even the disrupters at the trump rallies. You don't hear much of that from Libertarians. They just sit at card tables and hand out pieces of paper that **** you off. Most serious people don't take them that seriously because we tolerate other views. It is the self proclaimed "liberal" who is everything but. You live in a strictly defined big, all powerful, government paradigm and anything outside of that is "loony" to you. There is a name for that. It is Fascism. |

You don't hear much of anything from libertarians. Hard to take them seriously. You don't hear much because the networks don't say much about them and after 1996, the 2 major parties shut them out of the debates. Nobody was prepared to answer Harry Browne's questions. These days the "debates" are nothing but 2 candidates, reading lines from their stump speech, no matter what the questions are. The result is that, since then, we are getting the inbred ******* children of the GHWB administration. There are so many interlocking relationships between both party's mainstream candidates that there is not much space between them. Guns, abortion and most recently gays seems to be the big things and I bet Hillary will run away from the gay thing as much as she can in the general. She is certainly in the pockets of the banksters and wall street as much as anyone (as was her hubby). She is also a neocon, more like McCain than most other democrats. |

My guess is that you don't hear much from the libertarians because they sound like a "fringe" party, way out there. |

If they were so fringe, why did Harry Browne scare them so badly, they shut him out of the debates after that? Of course some of it was Perot too. He also asked questions about the economy that they were not prepared to answer. They just want to read talking points from their stump speech without any real questions. BTW did you see the Stossel report on the elections? I know you would not normally watch Stossel or Fox but it was a pretty good show. He had Beckel and Rollins talking about how campaigns are really run. They dissected various campaigns from Nixon on. They talk about how the campaign keeps the candidate on message and how the whole thing is more about image than substance. It was actually taped around 2012 so Trump is not in it. It is worth a look if for nothing else, Beckel and Rollins. |
