Tomorrow is the big day...

When I travel to Charlottetown to pick up my new boat. Busy today cleaning and getting the Legend ready to take over as a trade-in.

Good luck with it. Try to make sure it's fastened to the trailer before hitting any curves.

I don't hit curves and I try to avoid bumps and potholes as best I can.
Any advice on what oil to use in the four stroke MerCruiser 3.0 engine?

I imagine Mercury says Quicksilver 10w-30 up there. Down here it would
be 25w-40

Recommended oil NMMA Certified FCW 25W-40 Synthetic Blend

Good luck! Sorry the phrase 'hitting curves' threw you. I should have said, '...before steering your
towing vehicle around sharp curves'.

That would have been much more understandable.

That cast iron manifold in salt water will be worrisome enough.

Those are consumables on salt water boats. But they sometimes last
decades in fresh water use.

Over-rated "problem". They last quite a few years and there are
millions of I/O's that spend their lives in salt water.

Eventually they will rust out and have to be replaced. Maintenance
issue, just like the exhaust system on a car or truck.

Perhaps 'over-rated' for a reason? I replaced mine at seven years.
