Fatima Shahbaz and Jessica Boyer, juniors at McLean High School in
Fairfax County, Va., are a pair of debaters who as a team have gone
undefeated this season in the Virginia High School League. But as the
state’s top students gather at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. for
the state debate championship Friday, the teenagers and several other
debaters will be sitting it out.

Debaters from at least five Northern Virginia high schools decided to
boycott the state tournament because of remarks made by Liberty
University president Jerry Falwell Jr. that they perceived to be
anti-Muslim. At a convocation in December, Falwell urged students to
obtain concealed-carry permits and arm themselves so they could “end
those Muslims” — a statement he has said was referring only to the
Islamic terrorists who killed 14 people in San Bernardino, Calif., not
all Muslims.

Shahbaz is Muslim and her parents expressed concerns over her safety at
Liberty, where students with concealed-carry permits can carry guns and
keep them in residence halls. Debate coaches said other Muslim students
felt similarly fearful

From the Wash Post.

Frankly, I am appalled that any such event involving public school
students would be held at a university of bigotray like "Liberty."

I know as a good liberal, you love promoting Politically Correct
bull%$#t to make conservatives seem evil. You love to twist the meaning
of word spoken by conservatives so you can feel offended.
Probably not idea to carry a gun with people like you spreading
hate on conservatives.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...those-muslims/

"Those" like the ones that just killed 14 people. One gun in the crowd
may have saved 10 or 12 lives and killed the murdering terrorists.

Would you think it is a good for us to allow 50,000 18 to 25 year old
males immigrate into the U.S. from Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Pakistan,
or Syria?
Just want to know where you stand.

Virtually all the school shootings that result in mass murder in this
country are perpetrated by non-Muslim white males.

As far as Falwell's "university" goes, yes, I believe it is a locus of
hate and evil.

In this country, the only result of more people "packing" will be even
more shootings/killings.

If they can be properly vetted, sure. I'm sure a small percentage of
them will turn out to be bad apples, but will the percentage be any
higher than the percentage of bad apple Italians and Irish who came here
in the late 19th and early 20th Century?

Statistically CCW holders are the safest demographic of anyone
involved in shootings. I am surprised the left is so upset about them.
In most states, they have extensive background checks, they are
photographed, finger printed and require training, mostly in why they
"can't" shoot. In a lot of states they are only licensed to carry a
specific registered gun. Isn't that what you have been clamoring for
all these years.

Properly vetted, ya, no problem, sure!

I'm sure a small percentage of
them will turn out to be bad apples,

How many did it take to kill 3000 Americans?

but will the percentage be any

Were there Italians and Irish dedicated to killing Americans as part of
some F'ed up religious view? I don't recall anything like that.
Remember the terrorists are Happy to die to kill the non believer.
Please don't say, that's not part of their religion, the believe in the
idea anyway.

When I was just a little kid in grade school, the cafeteria served little lunches on what I thought was a bigotray, but I don't remember any of the bigotrays being named "liberty" though.

When I got drafted, the Army used bigotrays, but they were stainless steel. My tray was named 'Er'.
That way I could say "Fill Er up"!
