To Honor Harriet Tubman, Ben Carson Suggests Something So Stupid Fox
News Was Shocked Perhaps trying to outdo Donald Trump’s “7/11” comment from yesterday, in an interview with FOX Business’s Neil Cavuto, failed presidential candidate Ben Carson made a pretty ridiculous statement involving Harriet Tubman and a piece of money that is no longer in use. Carson first argued that Andrew Jackson was an incredible and admirable US president. There has been talk recently of replacing Jackson, whose picture resides on the $20 bill, with Harriet Tubman. As if it’s not bad enough that Carson is defending a president who is known to have been a supporter of both slavery and the deportation of Cherokees on the Trail of Tears, he went on to say that Harriet Tubman does not belong on the $20 bill in place of Jackson. He then suggested that perhaps she could have a place on the $2 bill. The $2 bill was last issued in 2003. Has Carson been napping for the last 13 years and missed that? http://tinyurl.com/hz456oj - - - The more I hear from the Republican wannabes and former wannabes, the more I fear for the future of this country. What the hell is the matter with Carson? And Ted Cruz and Bobby Jindal sound even crazier. Carson comes across like a male Sarah Palin. |

The bank will sell you all you want. I always give the pizza guy a couple. The bank has them in brand new packs of $200. I suppose if you were going put a woman on a two, you should replace Jefferson with Sally Hemings. http://gfretwell.com/ftp/2%20dollar%20bills.jpg |

It might also be because Jackson was the only president in history who actually paid off the national debt. That is blasphemy for big government people. He did win a decisive victory over the british in NOLA ... even if the war was actually over at the time. |

We've had a vocal group clammering for a woman on our 'paper' money also (actually polymer for the last while). I imagine we'll se it under this Liberal Gov't. BTW..we've only had one female prime minister, and she didn't leave much of a mark except for her gender. |

Maybe we should put Palin on the 20. She is certainly the most influential woman in the last 7 - 8 years. People like Harry can't go a day without bringing her up. |

Palin played a major role in turning the GOP into the party of obstreperous teabaggin' dumb ****s, and I think it appropriate to give her credit for her contributions. So putting her on currency may not be a bad idea? After all what we call money is just a love letter from the federal reserve, representing nothing but the paper it is printed on and a promise that someone will take it. As of the other day, it was pointed out that the fed created $4.5 Trillion out of thin air to prop up the economy since 2008. That accounts for 200% of the "growth" we have had in that period. We printed 4.5 trillion, injected it into the economy and that only showed up as 2.7 trillion on the bottom line. Typical government operation. Lose half of your investment and call it a success. You do make one good point. If the GOP had a luke warm candidate running it would be easy to run against the last 8 years but they have nothing going right now. |
