This is certainly a depressing election cycle. Both top contenders
have unfavorable ratings near 60%

The electorate is simply uninspired, only voting for the one they hate
the least. That will affect turnout.

In a low turn out election, anything can happen.

D'uh. Exit polls, which are usually pretty accurate on those sorts of
questions and answers.

Hard to believe when you have the results of elections in cities with
50-72% dropout rates, citing a majority Democrat. Probably akin to Dewey
exit polls.
