policies. Mine has never gone back to the dealer for anything,
including service, while in or out of warranty. All I've done
is change the oil a couple of times and clean and oil the air filter twice.

had some hard use for a couple of years being used 6-7 hours a day, 5
days a week to power the stone saw the contractors used to cut all
the bluestone for the pool. That project took all summer one year and
part of the next summer. I used it a lot last summer to power hedge
clippers and an electric weed wacker. Put it in the little trailer that
came with my riding lawn mower and I'd just drive it to where I needed
to work. I pulled the spark plug one day figuring it *must* need to be
replaced and it was fine. Even the gap was ok. Great little
generator.

What is also nice is that you can leave it running in the "ECO" mode
(low RPM) pretty much all the time. It will stay at low RPM (very
quiet) as long as the load is about 6 amps or less. If a sudden demand
for more amps occurs ... like a refrigerator compressor turning on and
requiring higher starting current momentarily, the Honda will
automatically kick up the RPM for a sec until the compressor starts and
then drops back to low RPM after the compressor starts. During Wilma, I
was powering a full sized refrigerator, a couple of lights, a TV and a
Direct TV receiver. It ran 24/7 for over a week and I only had to
fill it with gas twice a day, once in the morning and again once at
about 9 pm.

No, but your question prompted me to try to estimate the hours on it.
My estimate of total hours is somewhere between 800 and 1,000 hrs of
running time.

After the landscaping contractors used it every day over one summer and
part of the next, it was so covered with stone dust that you could
barely see that it was red. I didn't mind because the cost of the
Honda was a small percentage of the cost of the pool, cabana and
landscaping and it was *much* better than listening to their big, noisy
contractor's generator running all day in the back yard, so I just sorta
donated it to the cause. I figured it would be done for following that.
But no.

I cleaned it up, changed the oil, cleaned the air filter and stored it
away. It sat unused for about 3, maybe 4 years. Even had gas in it to
which I had added some Stabil.

Then we had a winter storm forecast with warnings of probable power
outages. I was at the local hardware store and figured the Honda would
never start after sitting for so long so I bought the last generator
they had. They were selling like hotcakes and were getting hard to find.
Before I unboxed the new one though, I dug out the Honda, put the
choke on, pulled the starting cord
about 4 times and it fired right up. Couldn't believe it. You can't
return generators up here so I sold the new one I had bought to someone
desperate for a generator. Used the Honda non-stop during the
resulting 4 day power outage.

Last summer I used it almost every day doing yard chores and landscaping
duties in preparation for selling the house. Started on the first pull
everyday and still runs like it did when new.

WV, in a few months. The place has a few acres of available land, and one spicket. No
electricity or sewer. It'll be a good prep for a trip without the amenities.

Get a long cable and good lock to make fairly sure the generator does not
walk away. Home Depot carries long security cables with formed ends.
