In about an hour or so I'm off to Home Depot to buy the Honda EU2000 generator. I

That is a nice machine, if it is big enough for your needs.

It'll work, but not enough to power the A/C. For that I'd have to get the sister unit
and put them together. Then I'd even get a 30amp receptacle.

Anyway, got to Home Depot only to find they had none in stock.

I bought a Miller Bobcat 225*welder, when I needed a generator, the
thought was it would last longer and have more resale options.
Mikek

* could be a 250

That Miller is not really portable. And Internet purchase may be cheaper
on the Honda. I have the Yamaha, and it works well.

Couldn't find the Honda for less than $999 from where I'd want to buy it. But, Home
Depot gave me the 10% military discount, so I saved $99. Plus, if there's a problem
with it I can take it back.

Did it come with heavy duty ear muffs? The beauty of the EU-2000 is
you can whisper and be heard standing 10 feet away from it ... even
closer when it's running at the low RPM when the load is 6 amps or less.

That is what makes those inverter models nice. They do not need to run
at 3600 RPM all the time to get the frequency right. They just run
hard enough to support the load
