During last night's debate Rubio was going on and on non-stop bringing up all the researched dirt he had found on Trump over the years. This is not a post supporting Trump's candidacy but I don't think Trump is a "racist" in the way you understand or like to describe people as. I've read some background on him with regard to his business holdings and philanthropy. He has a reputation of being color blind in terms of the people that work for Trump Organization LLC and insists by corporate culture and policy that no discrimination is allowed. That doesn't mean that a local manager of one of his hotels doesn't discriminate but his corporate policies would call for the employee's firing. If you think about it ... he would be crazy to allow any form of discrimination. Too big of a target for a lawsuit. There are also stories of his behind the scenes and quiet donations he makes to people and organizations that catch his attention and interest. One was with regard to a young girl with a rare and very disabling condition since birth. Trump happened to see her on the "Ellen" show and was moved to make a significant donation to the girl's mother to help with her financial demands for her daughter's care. Doesn't make the news and uncharacteristically the Donald doesn't try to benefit personally by making a big deal about what he gives to others. But most of the time he's a big mouth. I'm going by what he says. And he hasn't pushed back yet on his support from the Klan. And this past weekend he went after a California judge for being a Latino. And he has stated in some of his TV appearances to whom he has sent charitable donations. My problem with your statement "I'm going by what he says" is that you tend to see racism in virtually *anything* anybody says if they are not of the same political mindset as you. You've even gone as far as declaring that *all* Republicans are racists, which, of course, is absurd. In addition, no one is obligated to "push back" for anything they are not responsible for. Ignoring them is probably more effective. |

According to MSNBC (and they said "in all fairness") Trump *did* disavow any endorsement or support for him by the KKK when it was made. He isn't focusing on it or making an issue about it. He's ignoring it after disavowing it. Democrats are the ones trying to make it an issue. |
