So..since we always measure snow in centimeters...we divide our centimeters by 10 and then multiply by four to get your inches. That might be slightly quicker when dealing with odd numbers.

Get yurself a yardstick. We (Americans) don't care about Ms MMs or CMs.

We'll convert when pizzas get measured in centimeters, not before.

I haven't seen a yardstick in at least 30 years. Used to be a common thing in hardware stores up to the mid '60s.
Somewhere I have metal meter ruler. Funny, when Trudeau brought in the metric system it was supposedly to bring us in line with the rest of the civilized world. Who could have guessed that the mighty ' merica would stay so backwards.

America is not the rest of the world. Thank God for that.

How many cms to the inch?

"2.54"

For quick mental calculations I round it off to. 2.5

Most of the model airplanes in the magazines and catalogs give the wingspan in mms. For cms, convert

2.5, although converting 2.5 to a fraction, 5/2 and then multiplying by 2/5 is pretty easy.

Although Donnie's is a simpler system, Americans don't think they need
to change our system and won't embrace Donnie's system. Hail to the Queenie!

When teaching fractions, the kids would bitch about the difficulty. I'd tell them to go home and
have their parents call congress to push for the metric system. Much easier. Now we have to live
with a hybrid system. I never know what I'm going to need on the truck. Some stuff is metric and
some is not.

What's the conversion of 177 22 9 38 380 357 40 45 50 ;-)
That should get your mind off golf for a minute.

122.2078mm or 4.81in.

A friend and I are going to play with 9 45 22 and maybe 7.62 later today.

Why throw insults? Look at the problems your motherland, the UK, is having with its various
measuring systems.

A Canadian calling America backwards is suffering from mistaken identity, especially one who can't
spell America.

We're here in the hopes that this will return to a boating discussion

We would/should have gone metric many years ago except for some deep
pockets of ignorance still lurking around. At the time people were
saying that car mechanics would have to spend thousands in new metric
tools. Of course you can't even work on a lawn mower these days
without metric wrenches. What a joke. The real reason is that people
just didn't want to change their thinking. Of course you'll never get
the Brits off the pound sterling for many of the same hide bound
reasons.
