I thought the best plane to be able to land on a carrier might be the
A10 so they had better air support for marines and it might also be
good for things like those Somali pirates. Most carrier planes are too
fast to actually give the kind of close in support you might need
engaging small boats and they are basically out of gas as soon as they
take off. The A10 has a great "loiter time"
