safe to drink but nobody asked what the effect on their 19th century
water system the low pH would have. The river water is not where the
problem came from, it was the lead pipe in the system.
You can try to point the finger anywhere you want but the government
failed these people from top to bottom.


The problem is the governor took over the local government and made some
interesting decisions in order to save money.

crisis, Michigan’s Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Director,
Keith Creagh, wrote that the state is questioning whether the EPA has
“legal authority� to “order a state and its agencies� to act to protect
the health of its citizens.

The order, issued by the EPA on Thursday, states:

“The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) provides the US Environmental
Protection Agency with the authority to order actions when an imminent
and substantial endangerment exists and the actions taken by the
state/and or local authorities are inadequate to protect public health.
EPA has determined that the city of Flint and the state of Michigan’s
responses to the drinking water crisis in Flint have been inadequate to
protect public health and that these failures continue. As a result, the
EPA is issuing this emergency order to make sure that the necessary
actions to protect public health happen immediately.�

I was just going back to the original plan to stop using Detroit
water.
It is interesting that the Detroit water system actually cut Flint off
because they planned to go to another lake Huron source, that was
running behind schedule and they were forced to find water in the
short term from an existing but unused Flint river pipe.
That is not exactly what you read on KOS or wherever Harry got his
rant.

The "cost saving" that was planned was planned before the current
governor took office in 2010.

There is plenty of blame to go around here. The governor is not the
one who decided where they were going to get their water when Detroit
(DWSD) cut them off.
It is clear you are just parroting the DNC line while ignoring the
fact that the receiver was working directly for the state treasurer
who is a democrat. The decisions were being made by the city council
and only "approved" by the receiver.
Why don't you do a little research and stop getting all of your news
from your left wing blogs. Take the Wiki and run down the foot notes
