Temps in the 30's, no wind, early end to the frost delay - a great way to get in about 5 miles of walking. But, temp of 22, and winds of 10-12mph does not make for great golf. Besides, the course is closed due to frost delay...probably until noon. I was in Endicott (NY) in October of 79 working at the support center and I thought a bright sunny day in the 60s would be great golf at the IBM course. After what I thought was a great tee shot on #1, I walked up over the hill and found my ball was somewhere in a snow covered fairway. The south side of the hill was green, the north side white. I went back to the car. Don't they have orange florescent balls for that? I have that problem this time of year playing fetch with our dog at the park. When the ball is buried in the snow, the color makes no difference. One must find the hole and stick a hand in it. And, pray it's not a snake hole! -- Ban idiots, not guns! |

If the course is open, then there is enough un-snow-covered ground to have a decent round. I wasn't sure the course was really "open". I just walked up and hit the ball |
