Default Why I have a boat

We were out this evening and it was a perfect day on the water. There
were lines of showers south of us and north of us but we were right in
the slot and it was beautiful, high 70s and sunny.
The clouds were really cool, sort of a Rorschach test everywhere you
looked with interesting shapes that you could try to make into things.

I do still have one gripe that I call the "courtesy slowdown"
We go pretty slow and boats come up behind us a lot. I pull to the
right side of the channel, wave them on and the competent operators
maintain course and speed. The assholes I hate are the ones who think
they are being nice by putting it in the worst possible plow and going
by me "slowly". As soon as they get past, they crank it back up. WTF !

The other jerks are the ones on jet skis who still want to pass me on
the right, even though I am already as far right as I think is OK
I do get a chuckle when they hit something but they act like it must
be my fault somehow.

Problem here is it is cold, windy and rainy. Huge line on storms coming
our way. How is Florida March weather? Warm, rainy, sunny? Thinking of a
keys vacation then.

Florida in March is just about as good as it gets. The cool windy
cold front season is just about over, things are starting to warm back
up to the low 80s or so, and the summer heat and rain has not yet
started.

There's a charter boat out of Islamorada called the Kay K IV that some
of my fishing buddies have had good luck with.

We had another great ride this evening. The rain threatened but it
never actually got here. High 70s and a little cloudy.
We saw this guy, 17' Action Craft with an 8' tower. As they say on the
real boat board, "looks tippy" ;-)

Definitely looks tippy.

We had a tornado here tonight but fortunately it was on the other end
of town from us.

Most of that missed us but we did see it building when we were out in
the boat. It almost looked like summer weather for a while. Mr Ed
wasn't a happy dog. He thought we were done with that for a while.
We did get gusting about 40 or 50 for a few minutes and the live oaks
lost a lot of leaves.
