Only the vultures that eat your rubber window moldings (trap a plastic bag in your window) This is in fumbuck. |

Ranger Dave (my SIL) took us on a hike through the Corkscrew yesterday. There is a raised trail going through the Corkscrew that used to be the rail bed for a narrow gauge rail line they used for harvesting cypress up until the 50s. It was a pleasant walk with lots of birds and a couple gators ... no bugs. It was one of the properties he managed when he worked for South Florida Water Management. http://gfretwell.com/ftp/Corkscrew%20dec%2015.jpg Now for some odd reason, I have an urge to play some CCR or listen to Ry Cooder... |

Once you get away from the parking lot trail and the boardwalk, it does take on a surreal mantle. In front of you and behind you is a well manicured trail (getting less so the farther you walk) but to either side, you are in the swamp ... for miles. I wouldn't even want to guess how many critters saw us and we didn't see them. |
