Local paper Ft Myers News-Press
They bring up the issue of congressional districts and by extension the electoral college. Should they be apportioned based on total population or just eligible voters? Doesn't doing it by total population give added power to those voters? If you are talking about minor family members, people are representing their kids but what if it is an area with a lot of non voting aliens, legal or illegal and a lower percentage of voting citizens. Aren't their votes going to carry more power and may not actually reflect the desires of the non-voting population although they get the value of their numbers? I don't really have an opinion because I think it all comes out in the wash but I assume there are opinions on it. |
