Great article by Chuck.

I remember years back when I first discovered rec.boats when Chuck was a
regular participant. One day I was in a small gift/bookstore on the
main street in front of Scituate Harbor and lo and behold, there was a
copy of one of Chuck's books for sale. I think it was on how to choose
a powerboat. Anyway, I bought it. Still have it ... somewhere.

So, umpteen boats later, I guess I could point the finger of blame on
Chuck for giving me a bad case of two-foot-itis.

Why you ingrate. Were it not for this current rancorous bunch you would
have bought your boat salesman's line about it being your fault that
your boat was slowly turning into aluminum oxide. "Not designed to be
used in salt water",,,,,,,,,indeed. You are so gullible. You also bought
the notion that your Rave 4 was a truck. We had to set you straight on
that issue too. And your need to have a powered tongue wheel to put your
tiny boat into your driveway. We had to correct you on that potentially
expensive mistake too. Where was your pal while we were fixing your
wrong thinking?

Ah Stinky....you are a trip!
I didn't buy anybodys line about the galvanic corrosion.
Toyota says the RAV4 and my current Highlander are trucks. I'll defer to their expertise.
I don't need a powered tongue dolly, I'm quite proficient at backing the rig in.
Time for your daily swimming exercise in the John's bowl.

Krause, you consider a thread decent only if you started it and it's anti-Republican,
anti-Christian white male, and/or anti-second amendment. In other words, a post
designed only to elicit acrimony.

I stomped on a decent thread with a smart-assed comment here a week or two ago. I was
promptly, and appropriately, trounced by Wayne, Greg, and CB (I think). IIRC your
little, stupid buddy in Canada jumped on the bandwagon also.

So maybe you should retract your silly-assed comment.

Just think...if you had bought something written by the current rancorous bunch you might have a case of two-inch-itis.

Why is that any different from the threads you, Herring, W'hine, and the

don't tell me you fellas don't do it. You all do. I filter out most of
the right-wing assholes here, but enough of their vomitus seeps in so

You might consider stopping with the throwing of these stones. You're

I simply flagged the first troll in an otherwise serious boating post.

I don't see many of W'hine's posts here because he's a sewer dweller in

advice on "flaming" when he is one of the most consistent flamers here.

Nor would I try. It's really not my thing contrary to what Harry
believes.

There's an interesting book called "Games People Play" written by Dr
Eric Berne. Our friend YKW fits into one or two of Berne's categories
rather neatly. Berne is widely regarded as the father of
transactional analysis and the book was an eye opener for me when I
read it many years ago.

posts, there's no shortage of venues to read and post them, and without
W'hine's whininess, as it were. Even one of my FB SIGs has more actual
boaters than have ever been in rec.boats, and it isn't even a boating
SIG. Some interesting boats there, too.

from what I remember the "snarly righties" had boat discussions in here that is until some person[s] tried to pick a fight with them over politics and/or religion. And concerning some 'false faith' , the only false faith I can think of is for those who feel that the govt. must be trusted to take care of your every need...now!

That's one reason, we kill and eat wild game, have well water, raise gardens, burn wood for heat and plow out our own snow. And that's just a few items....

And BTW, my farm has never received any govt subsidies, because we're not signed into any govt programs. Some people think we should sign in and take advantage of some govt checks, but when you do that you lose some money, but for the most part the ag offices cant tell you what to do.
